About me
Joshua Essoe is a full-time, freelance editor. He’s edited for New York Times bestsellers Piers Anthony and David Farland—including the multi-award-winning novel Nightingale. He’s also worked for Dean Lorey, lead writer of Arrested Development; Mark Leslie Lefebvre, former director at Kobo; many Writers of the Future winners; and hundreds of top-notch independents. He was lead editor at Urban Fantasy Magazine (2014–2015) and hosted the weekly writing podcast Hide and Create (2012–2015). Joshua’s approach to editing is to help you make your story the best version of itself it can be. When not editing … ha ha, a joke. He has been a finalist in Writers of the Future, and is hard at work on the fifth and sixth books in a series on common issues he sees as an editor; the third and fourth, Worldbuilding & Mood and Atmosphere, overfunded by 343% on Kickstarter in the fall of 2022.
