"What's a filk circle?" you ask? It's like a music or poetry open mic, where people take turns sharing songs or readings. Often, the songs are affectionate rewrites of existing songs with the subject shifted to something related to the science fiction, fantasy, or horror genre, but that's not a requirement. For our purposes, the Superstars filk circle is about performing whatever you want in a supportive, friendly space. We'll likely have a few regulars who can show you the ropes, and everyone is welcome to attend. I'll have my PA hooked up and a connector for a laptop or cell phone if someone wants to perform a song to a backing track that they can provide.
